Who we seek:

BigID is seeking an experienced tax professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to lead global direct and indirect taxation compliance and planning at our high growth company.

The Director of Taxation, reporting to the SVP, Corporate Controller, will be responsible for managing all tax matters across the Company's global footprint and will work cross-functionality and globally with Finance, Legal, and People teams across the Company. Communication skills, attention to detail, and an objective approach to scaling and problem-solving is a must! Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal Taxation as well as Global Tax Compliance required.

What you’ll do:

• Manage all planning and compliance related to BigID’s domestic and international activities for corporate income taxes, indirect taxation and GAAP tax provision
• Develop a scalable international Tax compliance function to adapt to business and regulations changes
• Manage the Global Tax function and all external relationships relating to Tax
• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight of multistate sales and use tax compliance
• Serve as a technical expert and subject matter authority in sales and use tax regulations, filings, and compliance processes
• Assume expertise for new and emerging tax issues, both domestically and internationally
• Drive transformation of the tax function to scale for growth, which includes people development, process improvement and implementation, and effective use of data and technology
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to reduce tax expense, eliminate tax exposures, minimize audit deficiencies, and maintain a competitive effective tax rate
• Lead the continual strategic review of the company’s international tax structure and transfer pricing policies
• Drive the tax related element of the annual audit with external auditors, the accounting team, and executive management

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance
• C.P.A. required
• 10+ years of recent/current progressive corporate tax experience, including ASC 740 tax provision and U.S. tax compliance, preferably in the Tech / SaaS industries.
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 740 tax provision and related GAAP disclosure requirements
• 5+ years of progressive experience within a Big 4 accounting firm
• Must demonstrate a conceptual and business-oriented approach to communicating taxes and tax planning, and be able to effectively communicate with and influence non-tax business leaders
• Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements, including the use of new tax technology and automation tools
• Excellent interpersonal skills, as candidate must be able to work and communicate with individuals at all levels across the organization and draft technical Tax and accounting memos

The annual base salary range is $195,000 - $205,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is just one component of our Compensation Philosophy. Variable/Bonus Compensation & Equity Incentives align with individual and company performance.
