We're seeking a strategic Aircraft Data Product Manager to define and drive the complete ecosystem of data flows, digital systems, and operational insights that create value between our aircraft, customers, and BETA. The ideal candidate will be self-directed and have strong product management experience, preferably in aviation, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. The candidate will be highly adept at collaborating with internal and external teams and dedicated to our people-centric culture. We are looking for someone who will enjoy working in a complex technical environment involving multi-disciplinary data collection, transfer, and productization activities to drive requirements definition and implementation, serving both internal stakeholders and external customers.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Data Product Strategy and Development:Define comprehensive requirements for BETA's aircraft data product ecosystem, collaborating with subject matter expertsDevelop product roadmaps and prioritization frameworksCreate strategic value propositions, business cases, and ROI analysisDesign incentive mechanisms aligning customer and BETA interestsCross-Functional Integration and Architecture:Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data capture, storage, transmission, and utilizationWork with engineering teams to develop architecture for operational data pipelinesSupport ground station and server application product strategyEstablish operational data collection strategy for continuous improvementCustomer Engagement and Product Definition:Drive customer discovery to understand operational ecosystems and unmet needsNavigate data ownership, privacy, and liability concernsDefine product specifications and customer value propositionsDevelop comprehensive cost models for data productsSoftware and Compliance:Coordinate software development for data acquisition productsEnsure compliance with certification standards (DO-178C, DO-278A)Collaborate with UX/UI and Data Science teams to design intuitive toolsEstablish success metrics for product adoption and performance Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical field, or equivalent work experience5+ years of product management experience with demonstrated success in defining and launching data products or digital solutionsStrong understanding of data systems, digital product development, and technology implementationExperience working with cross-functional teams in dynamic, fast-paced environmentsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiencesCustomer-centric mindset with experience in both internal and external product managementExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product development processesAnalytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detailComfortable with frequent change and thrives in high-pressure environments Above and Beyond Qualifications: Aviation industry experience, particularly in aircraft operations, maintenance, or data systemsExperience with Grafana, Python, and data visualization platformsKnowledge of configuration management systems and processesFamiliarity with aircraft maintenance troubleshooting and operational workflowsExperience with aircraft software upload processes and systemsBackground in IoT, telematics, or connected vehicle/aircraft data productsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), data warehousing, and enterprise data architecture, including understanding of cloud security principlesPMP Certification or demonstrated project management experienceExperience with regulatory compliance in aviation data management (e.g., FAA, EASA requirements) Physical Demands and Work Environment: This role involves regular collaboration with team members in diverse BETA work environments, including aircraft hangars, flight operations facilities, laboratories, and hardware development areas. Candidate must be comfortable working in active technical environments to gain firsthand understanding of the customer data experience and operational workflows.
