Experienced Underwriter - Workers Compensation

WE'RE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED UNDERWRITER!

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, has an immediate opening for an Underwriter in our San Diego, CA office. This professional is responsible for evaluatingnew and renewal business in accordance with established guidelines in order toachieve departmental goals for profitability and growth, while developing productive agency relationships. Demonstrates sound knowledge of applicable statutory regulations, industry best practices, and appropriate application ofdeductible programs and loss sensitive plans.

ONSITE REQUIREMENT

This is a hybrid opportunity, requiring initial onsite training and, upon successful completion of same, a minimum requirement of three days per work week in our San Diego, CA office.

TEAMWORK RESPONSIBILITIES

Should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within field, as well as best practices in Underwriting. Relieson experience and judgment to perform the functions of the job and accomplish goals. Shows initiative in identifying serviceproblems and proposing solutions with new procedures, techniques or systems. Performs a variety of tasks autonomously andwith proficiency, demonstrates the ability to make sound decisions within given authority. Works under general supervision. Somedegree of creativity and latitude is required. Executes responsibilities professionally and in accordance with the Company'spolicies and applicable laws.

In accordance with the California Equal Pay Act, the pay scale for this job is $70,304 to $105,270. This pay scale is an estimate of the salary range the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations consistent with applicable law. The actual salary may be above or below the range. The pay scale applies only to this position and only if it is filled in California. The pay scale may be different for other positions or in other locations.
