Overview

We are looking for a proactive, strategic and detail-oriented Inventory Planning and Allocations Manager to manage inventory and strategic product allocation across our distribution centers. This role ensures optimal inventory levels to support timely fulfillment of customer orders, product launches, and seasonal transitions. The ideal candidate will lead a team focused on executing allocations, maintain strong alignment with Sales and Production Planning, and act as a central liaison between cross-functional teams.

In addition to overseeing allocations and inventory availability, this role will also support our Closeout Sales Manager by helping set up new customers, creating orders, coordinating fulfillment, and issuing invoices. The manager will also play a key role during the monthly buy process by partnering with the marker team to ensure accurate productions are created based on buy direction from Demand Planning.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management – Distribution Center Focus

  • Maintain accurate inventory across distribution centers for finished goods.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure product availability supports order volume, product launches, and sales plans.
  • Work closely with the Director of Inventory & Allocations to flag aging inventory, shortages, and replenishment opportunities.
  • Partner with DC operations to identify and resolve discrepancies or delays impacting order fulfillment.
Strategic Order Allocations

  • Oversee the team responsible for allocating open customer orders.
  • Ensure allocation strategies support business priorities, key accounts, and high-volume SKUs.
  • Collaborate with Sales to understand account needs and tailor allocation plans for product launches, new styles, and initial order drops.
  • Review allocation reports to ensure accuracy and efficiency in meeting order ship windows.
Closeout Sales Support

  • Support the Closeout Sales Manager by assisting with new customer setups, order creation, fulfillment coordination, and invoice generation.
  • Ensure timely communication and execution of closeout deals through cross-functional coordination with DC, Sales, and Finance.
Monthly Buy Coordination

  • Collaborate with the marker team during the monthly buy process initiated by Demand Planning.
  • Ensure proper productions are created to align with buy volume and style-level planning.
  • Track follow-ups and flag potential gaps in production creation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Production Planning, and the DC regarding inventory status, product availability, and key order execution.
  • Coordinate with Sales on timelines for product launches, sample requests, and seasonal demand shifts.
  • Partner with Production Planning to understand production delivery timing and ensure alignment with inventory readiness.
  • Communicate constraints, risks, and opportunities proactively to internal stakeholders.
Reporting & Communication

  • Produce weekly reporting on inventory health, order coverage, and allocation progress.
  • Track product readiness for new launches and communicate any issues that may impact on-time delivery.
  • Provide data-driven insights to Sales and Planning teams to support inventory decisions and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP / MRP or planning systems experience a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in consumer goods, apparel, or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with end-to-end supply chain or cross-functional team operations
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced or high-growth settings

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
