Overview

Axon is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager I - Sustainment to lead cross‑functional programs that sustain and improve Axon's mission‑critical systems. This role combines strong program management with technical depth to ensure reliability, scalability, and security of software, hardware, and data infrastructure that support public safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end sustainment programs for mission‑critical systems, including software platforms, hardware components, integrations, and data flows.
  • Define scope, milestones, success criteria, risks, and resource plans; build and maintain roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, IT, Security, Compliance, and Customer Support to align on priorities and delivery.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and cross‑functional dependencies; monitor progress and report status to leadership.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and blockers; communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements; support audits and documentation.
  • Foster continuous improvement of sustainment processes and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of technical program management experience in software/hardware, systems integration, or cloud environments.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of SDLC, software engineering, and IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban); PMP or similar certification preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence in a matrix organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Nice‑to‑have: experience with cybersecurity, data protection, compliance, and risk management.
