Senior Revenue Accountant

Job Description

Axon is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our finance team in Sterling, Virginia. This role focuses on revenue recognition, close processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606. You will collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success to review contracts and drive improvements in revenue processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, including contract review and revenue timing.
• Oversee monthly close related to revenue and deferred revenue; prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret contract terms and ensure proper revenue treatment.
• Develop and maintain revenue schedules for internal and external reporting.
• Support audits and maintain SOX controls related to revenue processes.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus.
• 5+ years of revenue accounting experience, preferably with ASC 606.
• Strong understanding of GAAP revenue recognition principles and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
