Senior Accountant, Germany – Axon

Axon is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Germany. This role focuses on general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and local statutory requirements. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data for Germany operations and support audits and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close for the Germany entity, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP; ensure accuracy of the general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition.
• Support internal and external audits; coordinate with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory and tax requirements; liaise with tax advisors.
• Drive process improvements and standardization of finance processes.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, and Legal teams for financial reporting and planning.
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable activities as needed.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/CA or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience; experience in technology or high-growth environments is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel; strong data analysis skills.
• Familiarity with German tax and statutory reporting; ability to operate in a bilingual environment is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; deadline-driven.
