Role Overview
Axon is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II (Onsite) to join our manufacturing operations team in Phoenix, AZ. This on-site role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to support the production of Axon's hardware products.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate and continuously improve manufacturing processes for existing and new products.
- Lead process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality on the production floor.
- Support new product introductions by developing process flows, routings, and equipment requirements.
- Plan and optimize line layouts, workstations, and takt time to maximize throughput.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues; implement corrective actions and document results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Equipment Engineering.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive cost reductions and performance gains.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements; maintain proper documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment (internships or co-ops count).
- Strong problem-solving skills and data-driven decision making.
- Experience with CAD tools, process simulation, and/or manufacturing software.
- Familiarity with PLCs, automation, instrumentation, and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work across teams on-site.
