Manufacturing Engineer II

Axon is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to join our hardware manufacturing team in Dietzenbach, Germany. This role focuses on developing and optimizing high-quality manufacturing processes for Axon's devices, enabling scalable production and rapid product launches.

Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will drive process development, tooling, automation, and continuous improvement to ensure robust, cost-effective manufacturing for Axon's hardware products. You will collaborate with Design, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure manufacturability and on-time delivery from pilot to high-volume production.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and optimize assembly and test processes for high-volume production
  • Design and validate fixtures, tooling, and automation to improve throughput and quality
  • Conduct process capability studies and apply DFMEA/PFMEA, CAPA, and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Supply Chain to transfer products to manufacturing and ensure manufacturability
  • Lead process validation, SOP creation, specification adherence, and ECN/ECR processes
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen) to drive continuous improvements
  • Support production troubleshooting and provide on-site line support as needed
  • Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 3-6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process development in electronics/hardware manufacturing
  • Experience with high-volume electronics assembly, fixture design, automation, and manufacturing IT systems
  • Knowledge of process validation, DOE, and statistical methods (Minitab, JMP, SPC); familiarity with DFMEA/PFMEA and CAPA
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
