Overview

Axios is seeking a Senior Technology Reporter to cover the technology sector across Axios' platforms. You will break tech news, develop sources, and produce enterprise stories that explain the implications of technology on business, policy, and daily life. The ideal candidate has deep experience reporting on software, hardware, AI, cybersecurity, cloud services, and consumer tech, with a strong track record of clear, accurate, and engaging writing.

Responsibilities

• Break national and international tech news with speed and accuracy.
• Develop trusted sources, conduct in-depth interviews, and verify facts.
• Produce daily posts and longer features; explain complex topics clearly for a broad audience.
• Collaborate with editors, visuals, and podcast/video teams to shape compelling storytelling.
• Utilize data and public records to support reporting; pursue investigative angles where appropriate.
• Contribute to Axios newsletters, features, and events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of journalism experience covering technology or related industries.
• Proven ability to produce clear, accessible, and accurate stories.
• Experience with data journalism, source development, and investigative reporting.
• Strong interviewing, editing, and storytelling skills; able to work under tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Willingness to travel as needed; remote-friendly position.
