Axios is seeking a Director of Memberships to lead the strategy, development, and growth of its reader memberships and related programs in a remote-first environment. The role partners with editorial, product, marketing, and partnerships to build member value and sustainable revenue.

What You'll Do
\n
\n- Define and execute a scalable membership strategy to grow subscriber base, engagement, and recurring revenue across Axios products and events.
\n- Lead cross-functional teams to launch, optimize, and expand membership programs, perks, and experiences.
\n- Develop partnerships and sponsorships with brands and organizations aligned with Axios's audience and content strategy.
\n- Own lifecycle marketing, onboarding, activation, retention, renewals, and upsell via CRM and analytics.
\n- Measure performance with key metrics (activation, retention, lifetime value, churn) and translate insights into roadmaps.
\n- Represent the member perspective in product, editorial, and audience development discussions to ensure member value remains central.

Requirements
\n
\n- 8+ years in membership, community management, partnerships, or subscription programs; 5+ years in leadership roles.
\n- Proven track record building scalable reader membership or subscription programs in digital media or related industries.
\n- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; able to drive influence across organizations.
\n- Experience with CRM and analytics platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Braze) and data-driven decision making.
\n- Strategic thinker with hands-on ability to execute and iterate based on metrics.
