Axios is seeking an Associate Editorial Director, Axios Live (Temporary) to lead editorial strategy for Axios Live events and related streaming content. This temporary role involves shaping program concepts, guiding content decisions, and collaborating with editors, producers, product and partnerships to deliver high-quality live programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial direction for Axios Live, shaping topics, guest lineups, and narrative arcs.
• Collaborate with editors, producers, product, partnerships, and marketing to execute programs.
• Develop program concepts, manage production timelines, and ensure editorial standards.
• Manage and mentor editorial staff and freelancers; oversee fact-checking and copy editing.
• Represent Axios Live with external partners and audiences.
• Analyze audience data to inform content decisions and optimize engagement.

Requirements

• Experience in editorial leadership or live event production within a newsroom or media organization.
• Strong storytelling, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines; collaborative team player.
• Familiarity with Axios brand voice and newsroom ethics.
• Location flexibility for remote work.
