Associate Scientist - Hair

📋 Description

• Conduct SOPs for product efficacy using predictive assays.
• Design experiments, analyze data, and present findings to guide product direction.
• Evaluate formula prototypes and materials via bench testing.
• Develop simple formulas to screen new ingredients for hair care benefits.
• Use microscopy, spectroscopy, and mechanical/thermal analysis to characterize hair properties.
• Prepare and standardize hair substrates for reproducible testing.
• Review literature to stay current on hair science and ingredients.
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure a clean, safe working environment.

🎯 Requirements

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Eng., Materials Science, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years in a personal care lab, with hair care preference.
• Proven experience in cosmetic product efficacy testing or claims substantiation.
• Proficiency in mechanical, surface, or thermal analysis; precise measurements.
• Literature search and interpretation; image analysis and statistical software a plus.
• Strong knowledge of hair care product categories and consumer needs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and data integrity.
• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced env.
