Associate Data Scientist – Optimization & Operations Research

📋 Description

• Work with real-world data to formulate optimization problems (supply chain, inventory, pricing)
• Design, implement, test, and refine LP/IP/MIP models; use heuristics when needed
• Prototype and compare formulations; balance optimality, robustness, and runtime
• Use solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, COIN-OR); include diagnostics, tuning, and performance analysis
• Collaborate with delivery and data teams to integrate models into end-to-end workflows
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and explain trade-offs

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 1-3 years of experience in optimization/OR; internships or academic projects acceptable.
• Strong foundations in linear algebra, probability, optimization theory, and LP/MIP modeling.
• Hands-on experience with solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, COIN-OR) and Python.
• Ability to reason from first principles; question assumptions; propose alternatives.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; take ownership; learn quickly.
