Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property

📋 Description

• Own patent preparation and prosecution across global markets.
• Lead FTO analyses for BD transactions and exclusivity positions pre-launch.
• Provide IP counsel across the asset lifecycle, including exclusivity strategy.
• Advise cross-functional teams including R&D, BD, Regulatory, and Commercial. Deliver timely business-relevant counsel.
• Support US and ex-US adversarial proceedings as they arise (IPR, PGR, EP oppositions, and patent litigation).

🎯 Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school; bar admission; USPTO registration; CA in-house eligibility.
• 10+ years pharma/Life Sciences IP experience (top firm and/or in-house).
• Advanced degree in organic/medicinal chemistry is a differentiator.
• Experience with adversarial proceedings: IPR, PGR, EP oppositions, and litigation.
• Ability to translate technical/legal complexity into clear business advice; partner to business.
• Experience advising cross-functional teams (R&D, BD, Regulatory, Commercial).
