Assistant General Counsel, Credit Cards

📋 Description

• Provide end-to-end counseling on retail products including payments, credit cards, and banking services.
• Respond promptly to complex legal requests; coordinate with team and outside counsel.
• Identify and mitigate business and legal risks to support product goals.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Advise on, review, and draft consumer agreements for new products.
• Develop trusted cross-functional partnerships to launch new products and features.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school (or foreign equivalent).
• Bar admission in at least one U.S. state, with good standing.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in law firm, government, or fintech.
• Strong knowledge of consumer lending products and TILA, ECOA, FCRA, FDCPA.
• Deep understanding of consumer banking products and related laws (EFAA, TISA, EFTA).
• Experience with CFPB rules and payments compliance (NACHA, card networks, BSA/AML).
