- Provide legal guidance to leadership and staff on nonprofit, tax, employment, and IP.
- Advise on legal issues for Greenpeace campaigns and treaties.
- Ensure compliance with federal/state/local laws; support compliance processes.
- Conduct risk assessments; provide staff training; advise activists on risks.
- Collaborate with global Greenpeace network; coordinate with legal and comms teams.
- Liaise with outside counsel on external legal matters.
๐ฏ Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of legal experience.
- U.S. J.D. or non-U.S. law degree with U.S. LL.M.
- Admission to practice in a U.S. state and DC bar.
- Experience in nonprofit law, political law, contracts, employment, tax, and First Amendment.
- Experience in environmental, human rights or international law (preferred).
- In-house or management experience at a progressive nonprofit (preferred).
