Overview

Archer is seeking a Staff Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and development of power electronics hardware and software for aerospace systems. This role focuses on creating high-efficiency power converters, motor drives, battery management systems, and associated control algorithms to enable reliable, safe mobility technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, and test power electronics circuits and systems (DC-DC converters, motor drives, power stages).
  • Own electrical requirements, interfaces, and component selection.
  • Develop robust layouts and PCB designs, and perform thermal and EMC analyses.
  • Validate designs through prototyping, testing, and data-driven verification.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams.
  • Contribute to reliability programs, design reviews, and safety/compliance activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in power electronics; aerospace or high-reliability experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of analog/digital control, power converter topologies, and high-voltage safety.
  • Proficiency with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and PCB CAD tools.
  • Hands-on hardware experience with debugging, testing, and instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with battery management, electric propulsion, motor control, or aerospace standards.
