Flight Test Instrumentation Manufacturing Engineer at Archer

Archer is seeking a skilled engineer to design, build, and support flight test instrumentation for aerospace programs. In this role you will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop reliable test setups, select sensors and data acquisition systems, and integrate instrumentation with test rigs and aircraft systems. You will troubleshoot instrumentation issues, document configurations, and contribute to continuous improvement of flight test processes. This is a full-time, on-site position based in San Jose, California.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain flight test instrumentation systems.
• Select and integrate sensors, transducers, and data acquisition hardware/software.
• Develop test fixtures and wiring harnesses, ensuring signal integrity and safety.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to plan instrumentation for flight tests.
• Support data collection, post-processing, and analysis; ensure data quality and traceability.
• Document configurations and contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
• 3+ years of experience in flight test instrumentation or related manufacturing instrumentation.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and sensors; familiarity with wiring, signal conditioning, and test setups.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
