Archer is seeking an Airframe Design and Analysis Engineer (SJ2025NP) to join our San Jose, California team. In this role you will contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of airframe structures for Archer's advanced platforms. You will apply structural analysis tools and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable airframe components.

Role Overview

Design, analyze, and optimize airframe structures for Archer's aircraft platforms. Apply finite element analysis, load path assessment, and materials knowledge to meet weight, strength, and safety targets. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure high-integrity airframe components from concept through production.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design and analysis of airframe components and assemblies.
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as Abaqus and Nastran.
  • Assess load paths, flutter margins, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
  • Develop weight optimization strategies and material selections (e.g., aluminum, composites).
  • Create and maintain design documentation, test plans, and analysis reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of airframe design/analysis experience.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (Abaqus, Nastran).
  • CAD experience (CATIA or SolidWorks); familiarity with composites and metals.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace standards and certification processes; excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; ability to work on-site in San Jose, CA.
