About us: Apply Digital’s Marketing Services division is a rapidly expanding full-service Martech team with team members in the US, Europe, LATAM, and Asia. As a personalization agency, we bridge the gap between creative, marketing, and strategy. We specialize in cross-channel content strategy, creation, and distribution (email, paid social, push, SMS), and MarTech implementations. We work with 50+ clients, ranging in size from companies like YETI, Upside, and Nutrafol to established marquee brands like A+E Networks, Afterpay, and Stanley Black & Decker.

Role: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Developer (Contract)

To support our growing client portfolio, we are looking to bring on a highly experienced Email Developer specializing in Salesforce Marketing Cloud to join our team on a 12-month contract.

This role is ideal for someone who has deep hands-on experience working within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including building, coding, testing, and deploying complex email programs in enterprise environments. You will partner closely with our Customer Success and Strategy teams to deliver scalable, high-quality email solutions.

In addition to writing clean, modular HTML, the candidate will develop CSS styling and implement Salesforce Marketing Cloud–specific logic (including dynamic content, personalization, and data-driven logic) within email templates.

Once coding is complete, the candidate will QA and test emails across platforms and devices, working directly with both internal teams and clients to ensure quality, accuracy, and performance.

In addition to email development, the candidate will support program implementation within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including making mock API calls (via tools such as Postman), understanding data feeds, and ensuring programs handle edge cases and audience filtering correctly within automated journeys.

Responsibilities

Produce and maintain responsive email templates using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, primarily within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Implement SFMC-specific features such as dynamic content, data-driven logic, and personalization within templates.

Collaborate closely with fellow email developers, Customer Success Managers, Technical Consultants, and Strategists to resolve issues and support deployments.

Participate in regular email stand-ups to prioritize work and ensure timely delivery.

Work directly with client teams to field technical questions, respond to feedback, and collaborate on in-progress builds.

Ensure emails comply with client brand standards, email marketing best practices, and CAN-SPAM regulations.

QA and test email messages using tools such as Litmus and Email on Acid, ensuring cross-client and cross-device compatibility.

Minimum Requirements

5+ years of professional email production and development experience.

Extensive, hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience (required).

Strong mastery of HTML and CSS specific to email development.

Proficiency with JSON.

Working knowledge of APIs, including how they function and how to make GET and POST requests.

Solid understanding of data feeds and how data is used within marketing platforms.

Strong grasp of responsive email code structures and cross-device rendering considerations.

Clear, professional communication skills, including direct client communication around testing, QA, and updates.

Ability to receive feedback, clarify requirements, and iterate on work as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Has

Strong experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud scripting, including AMPScript and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS).

Hands-on experience implementing dynamic content, personalization logic, and data extensions within SFMC.
