Applied Research Intern, Proactive Intelligence & Customer World Models (PhD / Graduate Co-op)

📋 Description

• Own a research problem end-to-end: frame question, methods, experiments
• Explore representation learning, foundation models, RL, and causal reasoning
• Build systems that understand customers and act proactively
• Publish findings and ship work into production used by millions
• Focus on memory, multi-modal data, and long-horizon planning

🎯 Requirements

• MS/PhD student in CS/ML/Stats/Math/OR returning after co-op
• Strong ML foundations: deep learning, optimization, representation learning, foundation models
• Experience conducting independent research and turning ideas into working systems
• Fluency in Python and PyTorch, JAX, or similar frameworks
• Evidence of research excellence: publications, OSS, leadership, or equivalent
• Nice to have: LLMs, agentic systems, RL, or production ML
