Applied ML Manager

📋 Description

• Manage and grow the ML team with coaching and feedback.
• Define quarterly ML goals, baselines, and a visible scoreboard.
• Drive end-to-end ML initiatives: planning, evaluation, rollout, and impact.
• Build a repeatable model evaluation and experimentation process.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to align roadmaps and ownership.
• Help hire thoughtfully as the team grows.

🎯 Requirements

• 8–10+ years of applied ML experience with shipping ML/LLM systems.
• 4+ years people management, including 1:1s, feedback, and performance.
• Strong technical judgment in applied ML (not ML infra/MLOps).
• Excellent metric sense and analytical thinking for tradeoffs.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Design.
• Clear written communication: strategy docs, memos, and goals.
• Bonus: speech, linguistics, or multimodal experience.
