Appian Corporation is a leading provider of low-code automation software. We are seeking a Technical Writer - SaaS to join our Product team in Chennai, India.

Role Overview

As a Technical Writer focused on SaaS products, you will create clear, comprehensive API documentation, user guides, and developer resources to help customers understand and effectively use Appian's SaaS offerings. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customer success to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all documentation.

Responsibilities

• Author, edit, and maintain technical documentation for SaaS products, including API docs, developer guides, and end-user manuals.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, design, and support teams to gather information and ensure accuracy.
• Follow internal style guides and documentation standards; maintain consistency across all channels.
• Publish docs using Confluence, Git-based workflows, and CMS platforms; align release notes with product updates.
• Review and update existing documentation to reflect new features and deprecations.
• Engage with customers to gather feedback and improve documentation usability.

Requirements

• 2+ years of technical writing experience in SaaS or software development.
• Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency with Markdown, Confluence, and API documentation tooling (Swagger, JSON, XML).
• Experience with version control (Git) and content management systems.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI and API publishing workflows.
• Familiarity with product release processes and user onboarding documentation.
