Principal Technical Consultant (Public Sector)

Overview

Appian Corporation is seeking a Principal Technical Consultant for the Public Sector to lead technical engagements with government and public-sector clients. You will design and deliver Appian-based solutions, architect end-to-end workflows, and ensure secure, scalable deployments of the Appian platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technical engagements with public sector customers, aligning technical solutions with business goals.
• Design, configure, and implement Appian-based workflows and data models to solve complex government processes.
• Integrate Appian with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and standard connectors; ensure data integrity and performance.
• Define technical architecture, security, access controls, and governance for Appian deployments.
• Collaborate with customers, Solution Architects, and delivery teams; provide technical thought leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
• Contribute to presales activities and deliver compelling technical demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering public sector digital transformation projects on a low-code platform (Appian or similar).
• Strong understanding of business process management, data modeling, and system integration.
• Proficiency with APIs (REST/SOAP), integration patterns, and security best practices.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and travel as required.
