Role Overview

As Chief of Staff to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will partner with Appian's CFO to drive strategic initiatives, streamline operations across the finance organization and other corporate functions, and enhance executive decision-making. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that operates across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CFO to develop and execute strategic plans, financial targets, and operating priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives, program management, and governance processes.
  • Prepare materials for board meetings, investor updates, and senior leadership discussions.
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance analytics.
  • Drive process improvements across finance, treasury, accounting, and governance functions.
  • Support CFO calendar, communications, and prioritization; act as a trusted advisor and liaison to senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to align the company's strategy with execution and outcomes.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Experience advising or supporting C-suite executives, preferably in finance, operations, or strategy.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to synthesize complexities into clear insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities; comfortable delivering to executives and boards.
  • Proven program management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree; MBA or related field preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage high-visibility projects.
