Job Description
Area Vice President, Commercial NA Services Sales at Appian Corporation is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the North America services sales organization, driving revenue growth, and delivering customer outcomes through Appian's low-code platform. The AVP will build strategy, recruit and develop a high-performing team, manage key client relationships, and collaborate with Delivery, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships to expand services adoption across commercial accounts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the Commercial NA Services Sales organization; set strategy, quotas, and ensure pipeline coverage.
- Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team of sales leaders and account executives.
- Drive revenue growth for services, including new logos and expansions; manage the P&L for the services line.
- Develop account plans, forecasts, and territory coverage; provide accurate revenue projections to executives.
- Partner with Delivery, Customer Success, and Solutions Engineering to ensure successful delivery and client outcomes.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product to articulate value and capture customer feedback.
- Lead complex negotiations and RFP responses; represent Appian to customers at the executive level.
- Ensure compliance with pricing guidelines and corporate policies.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of enterprise software/services sales leadership experience in North America.
- Proven track record of quota attainment and building high-performing teams.
- Strong executive relationships and negotiation skills; ability to influence at the C-suite level.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- Familiarity with Appian's low-code platform and professional services delivery is a plus.
- Willingness to travel.
