Network Management Systems Adminstrator/Developer

About the Role

AppDirect is seeking a Network Management Systems Administrator/Developer to join our Pune, India team. In this role you will manage and develop network management systems to ensure high availability, performance, and automation across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain network management systems and related monitoring tooling to ensure reliable network services.
• Design, implement, and maintain automation scripts (primarily Python and Bash) to streamline network operations.
• Monitor systems, respond to alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and dev teams to integrate network services with cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
• Document configurations, procedures, and incident runbooks; contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Assist with deployment and integration of new network devices and services; participate in on-call rotation as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of experience in network administration/engineering, with hands-on knowledge of Linux environments.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash; ability to develop small tools to automate routine tasks.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and basic network security principles is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to document work clearly.
