Role Summary

We are seeking aSenior Director, KOL and Advocacy Engagement. This is asenior position within the commercial organization that will focus ontheidentificationandcultivation ofprofessionalrelationships withcommercialkey opinions leaders (KOL) within theAtopic Dermatitis (AD) communityandnational and internationalpatient advocacy groups. KOLengagementand planning will support commercial and marketing strategy, messaging, and educational needs through insight generation, advocacy collaboration, and strategic leadership of key initiatives such as advisory boards, speakers bureau development, congress activities, and other commercial initiatives. In this highly visible role, you will work with advocacy groups to gain insights, discuss priorities, and lead partnerships on various projects. As an integral part of Apogee Therapeutics commercial team you will work closely with internal and external cross functional partners to compliantly support commercial strategy and educational opportunities through KOLs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify,develop,andmaintainprofessionalrelationships withinternational, national, and regionalDermatology and Allergy KOLsto generate insights,and participateinapprovedApogeeconsulting opportunities such asadvisory boards,speakerbureau, leadership meetings at congresses, and reviewing of marketing materials, etc.
  • Leadcommercial KOL influence-mapping initiatives by developing profiles and objective-based engagement / communication plans for each assigned KOL. 
  • Solicit, monitor, and interpret pre-determined KOL insights through compliant, field-based, 1v1 KOL interactions about current and future disease and treatment management patterns thatimpactthe development of commercial and marketing strategy, initiatives, and resources. 
  • Act as a liaison between KOLs and Apogee including connections with cross functional partners and other healthcare professionals.  
  • Compliantly align with field partners such as Medical Affairs on complementary strategic initiatives with shared KOLs.  
  • Collaborate with Marketing to provide insightstorefine positioning, disease campaigns, andassistin the development of strategies and messaging to deliverdisease and treatment education. 
  • Develop and execute strategies for KOL congress participation supporting development and execution of commercial KOL meetings and selecting commercial speakers.  
  • Support identification of KOLsto develop nationalspeakerbureau.
  • Strategically assess execution of thespeakerbureau supporting program and speaker effectiveness andutilization, speaker training, and evolving disease andbrand(followingproductapproval)content to meet education needs within the AD community.
  • Compliantly lead the planning and execution of Apogee commercial advisory boards through advisor identification, development of meetingobjectives, and development of meeting content to generate key insights. 
  • Operate to thehigheststandards in alignment ofApogee’s code of ethics and compliance SOPs, ensuring all interactions with KOLs are consistent with commercial, regulatory, and legal guidelines.
  • Compliantly work with National and International Patient advocacy groups on sponsorships, and support advocacy groups consistent with commercial and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with the design and execution of market research projects or other marketing initiatives as needed.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Advanced life science degree a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience; marketing or clinical experience in dermatology or a related therapeutic area a plus. 
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding expectations in current and prior positions. 
  • Patient and customer centricity by developing and fostering valued relationships with KOLs based upon active listening and acquiring and assimilating insights across applicable clinical and scientific domains.  
  • Ability to influence for impact using empathy and resilience to build credibility, trust, and influence with KOLs. 
  • Strategic mindset including the anticipation and interpretation of KOL beliefs to understand opportunities to support commercial and marketing strategy, messaging, and resources.  
  • Collaboration by building trusted relationships with cross functional partners committing to shared responsibility of customer and patient centric goals. 
  • Deep knowledge of dermatology clinics understanding referral patterns and networks. 
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to present to large and small audiences. 
  • Excellent product and disease fluency including the ability to develop deep knowledge of the therapeutic area and apply it to engage KOLs in support of commercial and marketing strategy.  
  • Strategic, passionate, self-starter who takes initiative and demonstrates the ability to lead through change, ambiguity, and complexity. 
  • Drives results by setting, communicating, and adjusting priorities to achieve evolving business needs or objectives. 
  • Strong understanding of the laws, regulations and rules governing the pharmaceutical industry, and history of ethical and compliant behavior. 
  • Must work well in large and small teams, comfortable working remotely. 
  • Position requires up to 50% travel including mandatory in-person attendance at Apogee All Hands meetings typically held two times per year, and travel to functional meetings and industry conferences.

The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $270,000 - $300,000/ year. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
