Apella is applying computer vision and machine learning to improve the standard of care in the most critical aspect of healthcare: surgery. We build applications to enable surgeons, nurses, and hospital administrators to deliver the highest quality care.
We’re looking for an engineer who thrives on variety and innovation. If you enjoy working across the stack—bridging infrastructure, backend, and frontend code—this role is for you. You’ll play a vital role in building innovative products, collaborating with designers and product managers to create exceptional user experiences that help elevate the standard of care in healthcare.
Collaborate with product, design, and commercial teams to help define our product suite, which supports medical professionals and hospital administrators.
Partner with other engineers to define the infrastructure, databases, and APIs that serve as the backbone of our applications.
Build responsive, modern applications using React, setting a high bar for user experience in healthcare technology.
Play a role in technical decisions, participating in conversations around system design and architecture to help shape our products.
6+ years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient code.
A strong dedication to craftsmanship and the quality of your work.
Proficiency with functional and reactive programming paradigms.
An intuitive sense of design and empathy for users, helping to build user-friendly experiences.
Willingness to contribute to discussions on system architecture and design.
Experience working in healthcare or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with developing SaaS products for business or enterprise customers.
