Anti-Abuse Automation Engineer

📋 Description

• Investigate abuse vectors driving financial loss; turn findings into detections.
• Build and operate internal fraud-detection tooling, rules, and anomaly alerts.
• Design workflows and automation to scale fraud prevention and reduce manual work.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Product, and Finance to ship fraud solutions.
• Lead incident response; investigations; durable mitigation strategies.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in fraud and abuse detection within Trust & Safety, focused on payments.
• Strong SQL skills; navigate large datasets to investigate fraud and gain insights.
• Designed automation using scripting and AI tools (LLMs, low-code) to speed investigations.
• Built and maintained detection logic (rules, heuristics, risk signals) for automated workflows.
• Owned iterations of enforcement strategies to optimize precision and minimize false positives.
• Partnered with engineering, data science, and risk teams to productionize detections.
• Experience detecting abuse in developer platforms (APIs, free tier, bot abuse).
• Familiarity with fraud patterns in cloud/SaaS/edge platforms (resource/billing abuse).
