About Anima

Hey! Shun here, I’m the CEO and co-founder of Anima. Our mission is to deliver precision medicine to everyone in the world in under 24 hours.

My entire life, I’ve been pulling on a thread that’s affected all of us in some way. Millions die every year because their medical problems aren’t treated quickly enough. Hundreds of millions suffer pain, worry and discomfort needlessly because of long waiting times. I trained as a doctor in the NHS and quit out of frustration at seeing countless cases of people dying because they got misdiagnosed or didn’t get the right care plan.

Seeing the problem space at all abstraction levels, including as a doctor and at the HM Treasury, convinced me that the only way to fix healthcare was to build a ‘Care Enablement’ platform that can automate and abstract away work at the clinic, and effectively 10x'ing the capacity of doctors. Doing so would also be the path to a superhuman personalised medicine agent that could go well beyond humans, crunching tens of thousands of low level features at genome and transcriptome level.

At Anima, you’ll help us extend the 3 existing product lines we have, that millions of patients use, and build out new ones at the very cutting edge of healthcare reinforcement learning and agentic AI. Your work will save countless lives.

About this role

Location: Given the makeup of our team, we're prioritizing candidates in EMEA.

We’re seeking a UX-obsessed Quality and Experience Analyst to uphold high standards for product and engineering quality across Anima’s web and mobile apps.

At Anima, we see Product and Engineering as fundamentally serving UX, and we see each line of code as an opportunity to add 'UX delta' to our users and stakeholders. If we think of Design as focusing on holding the bar on the early UX pipeline, this is a role that focuses on holding a high bar on the late UX pipeline.

Some companies consider this to be synonymous with QA and a tick-box exercise of writing tests and hunting for bugs, however, we're looking for someone with true product taste who can hold the bar on UX - whether it is intended application behaviour or not - to ensure every experience feels smooth and thoughtful.

We see this role as a critical part of the UXOps org, which in conjunction with Product and Design, allows us to hold a high bar on UX throughout the product pipeline, allowing us to ship the most UX delta possible to our users.

You'll love this role if you feel intrinsic joy and satisfaction from detailed, meticulous work to uncover 90/10 opportunities to improve UX and avoid catastrophic UX negative surprisal. You’ll combine careful craftsmanship with analytical thinking to perform manual testing, uncover friction points, and turn insights into clear, actionable improvements.

Example Tasks You May Own

  • Conduct manual and exploratory testing across Anima’s web and mobile applications.

  • Review new feature releases and identify UX and usability issues before they reach users.

  • Create and maintain detailed test plans, bug reports, and UX issue logs in Linear.

  • Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to define acceptance criteria and test coverage.

  • Deep dive into support tickets, analytics, and feedback loops to identify recurring pain points.

  • Write structured UX feedback summaries that drive prioritization in design reviews.

  • Build lightweight automation scripts using Playwright or Cypress to augment manual QA.

  • Help evolve Anima’s quality playbook: our standards, workflows, and rubrics for world-class product quality.

  • Partner with product and design to triage issues by user impact and prevent regressions.

  • Document your learnings in an internal QA/UX knowledge base for scalable quality practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extreme customer empathy: You care about how users experience the product. You spot friction in flows, anticipate confusion, and push for design improvements that make life easier for clinicians and patients.

  • Attention to Detail: You break things systematically to make them stronger. You notice inconsistencies, missing states, and micro-interactions others miss, and document them clearly and constructively.

  • Grind & Craft Mastery: You enjoy the discipline of manual testing for quality assurance. You take pride in catching issues before users do and continuously improving how testing gets done.

  • Analytical Prioritization: You separate signal from noise. You focus on the issues that drive the most impact and turn data, feedback, and intuition into clear recommendations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You communicate clearly with teams to resolve issues fast and build shared ownership of quality.

  • Operational Precision: You design processes that balance speed and quality. You improve workflows, automate what makes sense, and ensure every bug or UX issue is either resolved or understood.

  • Calm Under Pressure: You stay composed during release crunches and move methodically when priorities shift, keeping quality at the center.

Experience & Attributes

  • Demonstrated success improving product quality or usability.

  • Track record of reliability, ownership, and curiosity.

  • Mission-aligned and passionate about improving healthcare experiences.

  • Strong written communication and analytical thinking skills.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or other testing frameworks.

  • Exposure to SaaS or medtech environments.

  • Experience testing multi-platform products with complex user journeys.

  • Familiarity with Notion, Linear, or analytics tools to synthesize product feedback.

This Role Is Not For

  • Those who see QA as gatekeeping, not as a craft of product excellence.

  • People who dislike repetitive manual testing or detail-heavy work.

  • Anyone who wants purely creative or purely technical work, this role blends both.

  • Those uncomfortable giving or receiving constructive product feedback.
