Student Support Associate

Overview

Amber Charter Schools is seeking a Student Support Associate to join Amber Charter School Middle School. This on-site position supports students, teachers, and families by coordinating accommodations, monitoring student well‑being, and helping implement school programs that promote a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom staff in implementing behavior and attendance initiatives
• Assist with student check-ins, mentoring, and supervision during transitions and lunch
• Coordinate referrals to school counselors or community resources
• Maintain accurate student records in the school information system
• Communicate with families about student progress, needs, and available resources
• Support inclusive practices, accessibility, and a positive school culture
• Assist in organizing and running small-group supports and programs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work with students in a middle-school setting; patience and empathy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow school policies
• Proficiency with common software tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word)
• Experience in education, tutoring, counseling, or related field preferred
