Physical Education Teacher

Overview

Physical Education Teacher at Amber Charter Schools will deliver developmentally appropriate physical education across our campuses in East Harlem, Inwood, and Amber Charter School Middle School. The role focuses on fitness, motor skills, teamwork, and healthy habits, while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate PE lessons at multiple campuses
• Promote fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits
• Adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
• Assess student progress and maintain records; provide constructive feedback
• Manage equipment, facilities, and safety protocols
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, families, and administrators
• Participate in professional development and contribute to program growth
• Help foster an inclusive, respectful environment and model Amber Charter Schools\' values

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Physical Education or a related field; valid teaching certification in PE
• Experience teaching or coaching across grade levels; ability to work across multiple campuses
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
