We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Network Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimising our enterprise network to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance. This role requires knowledge of traditional network & security technologies in addition to cloud-based solutions, architectures and tools.
Please note that candidates are expected to be able and willing to work from our customer's office at least once a week and work on-call from time to time.
Required skills & experience:
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise networking and network security, with 3+ years of experience in cloud networking, with deep, hands-on expertise in AWS
- Expert-level knowledge of Cisco technologies (Routing, Switching, SD-WAN, Meraki)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF and static routing
- Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks (Firewalls, Prisma, Global Protect)
- Solid understanding of VPN technologies and secure remote access
- Proven ability to deliver architectures that incorporate high availability, operations supportability and scalability
- In-depth knowledge of core AWS networking services, including Virtual Private Cloud(VPC),Transit Gateway, AWS Cloud WAN, Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN & Cloud Wan
- Experience with CI/CD Tools - Github actions, Jenkins & Ansible (for config management)
- Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
- Solid scripting skills using Python, Bash or similar languages for automating network tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical requirements for diverse audiences
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Lead the design, deployment and troubleshooting of Cisco Routing & Switching environments
- Manage and optimise Meraki Wi-Fi infrastructure and Cisco SD-Wan implementations across multiple sites
- Administer and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls, Prisma Access and Global Protect VPN solutions
- Support and deploy multi-region and multi-account network topologies using AWS Cloud WAN, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect and site-to-site VPN connections
- Manage hybrid cloud connectivity between AWS and on-premises data centres, incorporating SD-WAN solutions
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform & AWS CloudFormation to automate network provisioning and configuration
- Implement network security policies and segmentation strategies. Use AWS services like Network Firewall, AWS WAF and Security Groups to ensure a strong security posture
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity and latency issues, and optimise traffic flow across the on-premises & AWS global network
- Provide critical operations support, diagnose complex network issues and resolve events related to large-scale networking
- Work with DevOps, security, architecture and application teams to ensure the network architecture meets business and compliance requirements
- Maintain and update comprehensive documentation, network diagrams and standard operating procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation, incident response activities and root cause remediation
- Provides post-design installation, configuration and tier 3 support for operational systems in the enterprise
Desirable Skills:
- Relevant AWS certifications such as the AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or other industry-standard networking certifications such as CCNP
- Proficiency in Cisco ISE for access control and policy enforcement
