We are looking for aFinOps Specialistto support our cloud financial management initiatives and help optimise cloud spend across multiple business units. The ideal candidate will combine technical cloud knowledge with strong financial and analytical skills to ensure our cloud investments deliver maximum value.
Working closely with Finance, Procurement and Engineering teams, the FinOps Specialist will provide visibility into cloud usage, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement best practices to drive efficiency and accountability across the organisation.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience inFinOps, Cloud Cost Management, or Cloud Operations roles
- Strong understanding ofcloud pricing modelsandbilling mechanisms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Hands-on experience withcost optimisation tools and native cloud billing consoles
- Ability to analyse and interpret large data sets to identify trends and actionable insights
- Experience withbudgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for cloud environments
- Working knowledge oftagging, chargeback/showback models, andgovernance frameworks
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain cloud financial concepts to non-technical audiences
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Cloud Cost Management – Monitor, analyse, and report on cloud usage and spend across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments
- Cost Optimisation – Identify and implement savings opportunities such as rightsizing, idle resource cleanup, and optimal use of reserved instances or savings plans
- Budgeting & Forecasting – Support monthly and quarterly cloud cost forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting for Finance and Engineering teams
- FinOps Process Enablement – Help establish and maintain tagging standards, cost allocation processes, and governance policies
- Tooling & Automation – Manage and enhance cloud cost management tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management)
- Reporting & Dashboards – Develop dashboards and reports that communicate cloud financial performance and usage trends to stakeholders
- Collaboration & Training – Partner with Finance and technical teams to promote cost-awareness and FinOps best practices across the organisation
- Continuous Improvement – Stay current with cloud pricing updates, discounts, and FinOps methodologies to continuously refine cost management processes
Desirable Experience & Qualification:
- FinOps Certified Practitioner
- Proficiency in Excel or data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau)
