Data Licensing Manager

AlphaSense is seeking a Data Licensing Manager to lead our data licensing program. You will partner with product, legal, sales, and data providers to negotiate and manage licensing agreements for our market intelligence data products. The role focuses on ensuring compliant terms, optimizing licensing arrangements, and supporting the company’s growth through scalable data access.

Role overview

In this role, you will own the end-to-end data licensing lifecycle, drive strategic licensing negotiations, and collaborate cross-functionally to align licensing terms with product strategy and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation and management of data licensing agreements with data providers
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, and Compliance to ensure terms meet regulatory requirements
• Manage vendor relationships and performance, including renewal processes and pricing negotiations
• Work with product and analytics teams to scope data needs and usage rights
• Develop and maintain data catalog, licensing metadata, and governance processes
• Monitor usage, licensing costs, and risk, implementing cost-controls and optimization strategies

What you should bring

• 5+ years of experience in data licensing, contract negotiation, or licensing management
• Strong understanding of data governance, licensing terms, and privacy/regulatory considerations
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a data-driven mindset
• Ability to manage multiple agreements and vendors simultaneously
