Clearing Operations Associate - Corporate Actions - Overnight 2AM - 11AM EST

Overview

Alpaca is a fintech company offering developer-friendly trading APIs. We are seeking a Clearing Operations Associate to join our operations team remotely from India. The role focuses on clearing, corporate actions, and overnight processing from 2:00 AM to 11:00 AM EST, ensuring accurate settlement and timely action on corporate actions while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute clearing and settlement activities during the overnight window (2:00 AM – 11:00 AM EST).
• Process and monitor corporate actions events (dividends, stock splits, mergers) and related settlement instructions.
• Reconcile trade data across internal systems and external custodians/brokers; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records, controls, and documentation; contribute to KPI tracking and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Trading, Compliance, Tax, and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Identify risk exposures and support controls to mitigate settlement risk.

Requirements

• Experience in financial operations, clearing, or securities processing preferred.
• Strong understanding of clearing and settlement lifecycle and corporate actions.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and data analysis; comfortable working with operations systems and basic SQL/queries if applicable.
• Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work the overnight shift from India and manage remote work logistics (reliable internet, dedicated workspace).
