About the Role

We are looking for an Instructional Designer who will be responsible for Courses & learning paths for Almabase.

Your core focus will be to —

  • Translate product workflows and use cases into structured learning paths and courses.

  • Design modular content that can be reused across academy, webinars, KBs and internal enablement.

  • Own learner experience: prerequisites, progression, quizzes, certifications.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to deeply understand how the product works, identify learning gaps, and turn complex workflows into simple, effective learning experiences.

Responsibilities

Learning Experience Design

  • Design courses and learning paths catering to every customer persona — new customer, existing customer, etc. (core responsibility).

  • Create structured modules, assessments, and interactive elements to make learning seamless.

  • Turn raw product information into engaging, outcome-based learning experiences through courses, KBs, and other mediums.

  • Enable the internal team to stay well-equipped with product knowledge.

Content Development & Writing

  • Create and maintain KBs, write scripts for videos, walkthroughs, micro-learning clips, and tutorials.

  • Build job aids, printable quick guides, and checklists.

  • Maintain consistency in tone, structure, and terminology across all education content.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Managers to understand new features.

  • Partner with Support and Success to identify common customer challenges.

  • Gather feedback from users and internal teams to continually refine learning material.

Continuous Improvement

  • Review and update all learning content in line with product releases.

  • Track course engagement and completion to improve learner outcomes.

  • Standardize course formats and documentation patterns for scalability.

Must Haves

  • 2–4 years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, or Customer Education.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design frameworks.

  • Proven experience creating structured courses, tutorials, or product training.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills with a focus on clarity.

  • Ability to simplify complex software concepts into digestible learning steps.

  • Comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-moving SaaS environment.

  • Experience in tools like Rise, Storyline, or anything similar.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with Clueso, Canva or other authoring and simple design tools.

  • Experience building video-based education or micro-learning modules.

  • Basic familiarity with UX writing, technical writing, or documentation tools.

  • Understanding of analytics to measure content performance.

12-Month Plan

Months 1–3

  • Get hands-on with Almabase modules and workflows.

  • Start building core courses for highest-impact areas (Events, Email, Profiles).

  • Create foundational templates for course structure and assessments.

Months 4–6

  • Expand course library to cover advanced use cases and admin workflows.

  • Use courses to generate consistent, high-quality knowledge base articles.

  • Partner with Support to reduce top-ticket drivers via course content.

Months 7–9

  • Start designing certification paths or advanced learning journeys.

  • Introduce richer media: videos, micro-lessons, interactive guides.

  • Build reusable content frameworks for future ID hires.

Months 10–12

  • Take full ownership of Almabase’s customer learning ecosystem.

  • Standardize course creation → KB → onboarding content workflow.

  • Continue refining learning effectiveness with data and customer feedback.

Where This Role Fits

The Instructional Designer will:

  • Lead course creation (the new center of Customer Education).

  • Produce export-ready KB content through courses for efficiency.

  • Support onboarding with structured learning paths and tutorials.

  • Collaborate on feature launches, creating “learning-first” materials.

  • Eventually complement a Technical Writer (if hired later) with course-first content.

This role becomes the foundation of our self-serve education strategy, ensuring customers have clear, guided pathways to success.
