Overview

Alma is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its engineering team in a fully remote role serving the contiguous United States. In this position you will help build and maintain Alma's software platform, collaborating with product, design, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality features.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and maintain features for Alma's software platform.
Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software.
Participate in code reviews, write clear tests, and ensure code quality and reliability.
Contribute to system architecture discussions and help improve performance, scalability, and security.
Keep documentation up to date and support ongoing improvements.

Requirements

2+ years of professional software development experience (or equivalent).
Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, or Go).
Experience building web applications, APIs, and working with databases.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.

Nice to have

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and testing practices.
Knowledge of fintech or payments domain is a plus.
