About Alma
Alma is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer, Claims Reconciliation to join our engineering team. This full-time remote role focuses on building reliable, scalable backend services to power Alma's claims reconciliation workflows.
The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain backend systems, APIs, and data processing pipelines critical to claims reconciliation. You will collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams to deliver robust, high-quality software.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services for claims reconciliation
- Build APIs and data pipelines to process claims data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements
- Write unit and integration tests; ensure reliability and performance
- Monitor and improve system scalability and operability
- Participate in code reviews and mentoring
Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience
- Proficiency in a major backend language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js)
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills
- Experience with distributed systems and APIs
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
