Overview
Allworth Financial is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations, ensuring GAAP compliance, managing the month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This leadership role will supervise the accounting team and partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision making.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee technical accounting, GAAP compliance, revenue recognition, and internal controls (SOX where applicable).
- Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership and the board, including variance analysis and management commentary.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, cash flow forecasting, and working capital management.
- Coordinate annual external audits and manage relationships with auditors.
- Supervise accounts payable/receivable and general ledger activities; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain fixed assets, payroll accounting, tax compliance support, and regulatory reporting as needed.
- Lead process improvements and system enhancements (ERP) to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and enforce accounting policies and internal controls; provide training to staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required or strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of accounting experience; 3+ years in a leadership role; experience as a Controller or Finance Manager.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
