Senior Back-End Engineer at AKKO

Location: Remote (South America). This is a full-time, remote-friendly role based in São Paulo, Brazil.

Overview

AKKO is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, collaborate with frontend and product teams, and help shape our technology stack.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs.
Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to define robust solutions.
Ensure performance, reliability, and security of backend systems.
Participate in code reviews and promote coding best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.

Requirements

5+ years of backend development experience or equivalent.
Strong programming experience with Python, Go, or Node.js.
Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
Experience building RESTful APIs and or gRPC services.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes).

Nice to have

Distributed systems experience and event-driven architectures.
Knowledge of security best practices and data privacy.
