About the Role
Airbnb is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Knowledge Graph to design and scale our knowledge graph platform that powers search, recommendations, and trust systems. You will architect and implement distributed data pipelines, graph storage and querying capabilities, and collaborate with product, data engineering, and platform teams. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and help define best practices in reliability, scalability, and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale a robust Knowledge Graph platform
- Build distributed data pipelines and graph database integrations
- Collaborate with product teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
- Mentor engineers and influence technical strategy
- Ensure system reliability, observability, and security
Qualifications
- Extensive software engineering experience (Senior level)
- Strong background in graph technologies, knowledge graphs, RDF/SPARQL, or related domains
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with distributed systems, data processing frameworks, and cloud platforms
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
