Staff Experience Designer

Overview

Airbnb is seeking a Staff Experience Designer to lead the end-to-end design of guest and host experiences across platforms. This remote-forward role partners with product, research, and engineering to create human-centered, scalable experiences that drive trust and delight.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the design vision for key guest and host journeys across web and mobile.
• Partner with product management, research, and engineering to shape strategy and execute on a world-class user experience.
• Design and evolve design systems, components, and guidelines to ensure consistency and accessibility.
• Mentor designers, review work, and help grow the team’s capabilities.
• Contribute to research plans, synthesize insights, and translate findings into clear design decisions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in experience design, product design, or related field (portfolio required).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, service design, and systems thinking.
• Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma) and a track record of building scalable design systems.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and advocacy for user-centered design.
• Experience working in remote or distributed teams preferred.
