Specialist, Safety – Airbnb

Airbnb is seeking a Specialist, Safety to help protect our global community in a remote-friendly role based in Canada. This position is part of our Trust & Safety organization and focuses on incident response, risk assessment, and policy improvements to safeguard guests and hosts.

Role overview

In this remote role, you will investigate safety incidents, analyze risk, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement safety processes and guidelines that support a safer platform for our community.

What you’ll do

• Investigate safety incidents and trends across platforms; coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in incident response during high-priority safety events.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve safety processes, guidelines, and training materials.
• Analyze safety data to identify risk patterns and opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders and external partners when appropriate.
• Support policy development and the ongoing evolution of Airbnb’s safety standards.

What we’re looking for

• 2+ years of experience in safety, risk management, compliance, or a related field (education_required).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate with global teams.
• Knowledge of safety best practices and incident response methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in safety, security, or a related field.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Trust & Safety platforms and data analysis tools.
