Airbnb is seeking a Payments Regional Growth & Development Lead to drive region-wide growth and strategic development of payments capabilities. Based in Gurugram, this hybrid role partners with product, engineering, finance, and regional teams to improve payment acceptance, payout flows, risk controls, and the end-to-end guest and host experience within the Asia-Pacific region, starting with India.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the regional payments strategy aligned with Airbnb's global payments roadmap.
Lead cross-functional programs with product, data, engineering, risk, and operations to expand payment methods, currencies, and regions.
Optimize checkout experience, onboarding, payout flows, and reconciliation for hosts and guests.
Build and manage relationships with banks, PSPs, regulators, and local partners; ensure compliance and risk controls.
Partner with market teams to localize strategies, GTM plans, and performance metrics; run experiments and measure impact.
Develop business cases, forecast revenue impact, and present recommendations to leadership.
Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing regional payments team; influence stakeholders across functions.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in payments, growth, or operations leadership, with a track record of delivering results in large-scale platforms.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking; data-driven decision maker; excellent communication and program-management skills.
Hands-on experience with Indian and broader Asia-Pacific payments landscape; familiarity with regulatory considerations and compliance requirements.
Ability to build partnerships with banks, PSPs, fintechs, and internal product/engineering teams; comfortable with ambiguity and multi-stakeholder environments.
Bachelor’s degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
