Airbnb is a global community marketplace that connects people to unique travel experiences. We are seeking an Associate Principal, Marketing Strategic Finance & Analytics to lead the strategic finance and analytics work for marketing across the company.
Role Overview
As a senior finance and analytics leader within Marketing, you will own budgeting, forecasting, ROI measurement, and cross-functional partnerships to maximize marketing impact and efficiency. You will build robust financial models, attribution frameworks, and decision-support tools, mentor a team of analysts, and partner with Marketing, Growth, Product, and Operations to drive data-driven decision making in a fast-growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead marketing finance strategy, annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term planning for marketing initiatives.
- Develop and maintain measurement frameworks for marketing ROI, CAC, LTV, ROAS, and other key performance indicators.
- Build financial models to evaluate channel investments, campaigns, and regional opportunities; optimize resource allocation.
- Partner with Marketing, Growth, and Product teams to design experiments, attribution models, and marketing mix optimization opportunities.
- Own monthly variance analysis, operating metrics, and executive-level dashboards; present insights to senior leadership.
- Mentor, grow, and manage a team of analysts; drive hiring and professional development.
- Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration and data governance to support rapid decision making.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in marketing finance/analytics or a closely related field; experience in a tech or marketplace company is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python/R; data visualization experience with Looker/Tableau/Power BI; advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and communicate complex financial models and ROI analyses; experience with experimentation and attribution is a plus (MMM, A/B testing).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities; able to influence across multiple functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with strong ownership and accountability.
