Our client, a MedComms/Life Sciences consultancy, is seeking talented client services professionals at the Account Manager, Senior Account Manager, or Account Director level to join a growing medical communications agency. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences communications who thrive on building client relationships, managing projects, and contributing to business growth.

Depending on experience level, the successful candidate will take on responsibilities ranging from hands-on account management and content oversight to strategic client leadership, team management, and new business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client & Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive and responsive service.
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnership.
  • Lead account planning, including strategy development, insights gathering, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to and/or lead proposal development and presentations for new business opportunities.
  • Project & Content Management:

  • Manage day-to-day execution of medical communication projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee content development, including review, fact-checking, referencing, proofreading, and managing revisions with writers, translators, and physicians.
  • Support or lead accreditation processes (CHE, CFPC, Royal College).
  • Coordinate and manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Develop briefing documents, content templates, contact reports, and other client-facing materials.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Supervise and mentor team members and/or freelance contributors, fostering collaboration and performance excellence.
  • Provide training and guidance on internal processes, content standards, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment with project objectives.
  • Financial & Business Development:

  • Develop, track, and manage project budgets, reconciling accounts and addressing variances as needed.
  • Maximize revenue recovery across accounts and ensure financial efficiency in project delivery.
  • Identify and secure organic growth opportunities within existing accounts; support business development efforts with new clients and therapeutic areas.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of grant proposals and funding requests.
  • Stakeholder & KOL Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare providers, physicians, and key opinion leaders.
  • Ensure effective engagement and communication with stakeholders across therapeutic areas.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, health sciences, or related field (advanced degree an asset).
  • Account Manager level: 3+ years of experience in medical communications, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Senior Manager/Director levels: 5+ years of progressive client services/account management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical/healthcare industries, regulatory codes (e.g., Innovative Medicines Canada, PAAB), and accreditation processes.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities (for senior levels).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
