SUMMARY

Agile Defense is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team supporting a mission-critical federal law enforcement agency. In this role, you will help architect and maintain secure, high-availability systems that directly enable national criminal justice operations. You’ll play a hands-on role in engineering, integration, deployment, testing, and maintenance of infrastructure and software. You will be responsible for core services of a large hybrid intranet environment hosting a variety of network monitoring, security, and logging services for which you will be responsible. Operational duties will include end user support for operating systems and proprietary applications, administration and development of critical services, and providing support and guidance to junior staff.

This position offers the opportunity to engage with a wide range of technical challenges—from virtualization to scripting to system interoperability while supporting law enforcement professionals in the field and across the nation.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develop and administer advanced Linux-based solutions to include local repository management, email services, active directory integration, application development, and Enterprise-wide log collection, monitoring. and analysis.

· Deploy and maintain multiple database servers for application support across enterprise, as well as enterprise endpoint management solution to address configuration and patch management software deployment in a multiple-operating system environment.

· Assist in the development and implementation of web-based applications and databases employing current technologies and methodologies; unique monitoring solution including hardware and software sensors (power, environment, etc) that integrate with alerting systems, strategies, and methods for improving reliability and efficiency of hardware and software provisioning and deployment.

· Develop methods for deploying development environments that mirror production environments for risk mitigation in test and evaluation of software and hardware solutions.

· Security administration and compliance monitoring through Splunk Enterprise to maintain forwarders, indexers, and search heads and development of executive-level dashboards and reports and Tenable SC/Nessus to scan and report vulnerability and security compliance issues.

· Documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through development of protocols, policies, and regulations implemented through ticket system solutions knowledge base, wiki documentation, and process checklists.

· Provide networking configuration and maintenance support to include basic switch and router troubleshooting, configuration, cable routing and termination.

· Support system administrative tasks to include server and workstation hardware installation, troubleshooting and upgrading, operating system and software test and evaluation, and enterprise-wide PKl certificate management.

· Operations and maintenance (O&M) of core physical and virtual server environments through extensive use of VMware ESXi and related technologies.

· Enterprise endpoint monitoring through integration and management of all network, server, and workstation assets in Network Monitoring System.

· Change Management administration using enterprise ticket system to track issues and shepherd change requests through defined Change Advisory Board workflows.

· Operating system configuration and management (Windows, Linux, ESXi) via implementation of system baselining / imaging technologies and configuration automation including Windows Deployment Server, Ansible, Active Directory, GPOs, and similar.

· Implement directed backup policies and procedure to ensure data availability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Certifications

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

COMPTIA Server+

VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization

Certified Networking Associate or Professional (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Network+)

Education, Background, and Years of Experience

Prefer a degree in Computer Science, IT related field or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, and training.

Experience – Minimum 5 to 7 years of related experience

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills

· Highly proficient in Linux and Windows system administration, including configuration management and automation

· Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain VMware ESXi and large-scale virtualized server environments

· Proficient in deploying and supporting enterprise database servers and application backends

· Experienced in enterprise logging, monitoring, and security compliance using platforms such as Splunk and Tenable

· Strong proficiency in networking fundamentals, including switch and router configuration and physical network support

· Demonstrated skill in scripting and automation for application support and environment provisioning

· Proven ability to produce clear technical documentation and manage tasks through enterprise ticketing and change management systems

· Must be a team player, have excellent oral and written communications skills, and be customer service oriented.

· A self-motivated individual eager to contribute, learn, and exceed customer expectations through their work.

· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
